J. S. HARVIE & CO was established in 1959 by current Chairman and Owner, Sir Jack Harvie CBE, as a partnership dealing mostly in the decorative area.  The Company has expanded and grown into the contracting field to meet the needs of clients.  Our experience now extends to Schools, Museums, Government Buildings, Hospitals, refurbishment of Housing stock and the Commercial sector.  The J. S. Harvie Group now has an annual turnover of £5 million.

All Management and Supervisors have long-term commitment to the Company with many years experience in handling all aspects of the trade.  C.I.T.B. together with Health & Safety courses are regularly attended to meet the ever-changing market requirements and statutory regulations.

During the last five years our group workforce has grown to 150 tradesmen consisting of:

Site Foremen

All our site foremen have long-term service with our organisation and possess vast experience of the trade.

 

Tradesmen

All our tradesmen are qualified with City & Guilds achievements, the majority of which commenced their careers with the Company.

 

Apprentices

All our apprentices undertake a four-year apprenticeship under the supervision of a tradesman whilst attending college courses on block release.

We operate throughout Scotland with offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.  Our London operation handles contracts from London to Manchester.  We are therefore, able to offer a national coverage for clients with nationwide portfolios of property.
